decor: lighting

my apologies to those of you who follow me on pinterest.  bulbs are burgeoning out of my brain this week due to our upcoming electrical mark up on our now framed NC home.  we need to know where lights and outlets will be located.

now.

though we have been directed to a lovely local lighting store through our builder--which will likely provide great service and leap to our rescue should we have an issue--, my frugality forces me scout for the best deals.  did i mention that we mentally blew through our lighting allowance minutes after entering the store?

not good.

re-evaluation and prioritizing was necessary.  initial selections were tossed out the window as i created "wish lists" on lampsplus, overstock, ikea, lowes and home depot, among others.  i was agog at the price variations and can't seem to stop myself from googling and goggling the world of lighting to find more deals, better deals, the  B E S T deal!

a-gog, i tell you.

for example, we're going with the industrial look for frick and frack's bathroom vanities:

do you think my almost 11 year olds will fuss if we go with the light that is close to 1/6th of the price of the other?  not a chance.

of course, there are differences in finish and, perhaps, quality, as well.  each has to be taken into consideration but it's tough to do much "considering" when you're shopping through your fingertips!  unless you  think that lack of quality may burn my house down.

it was $300ish through the local lighting store we visited with our builder.  $70 is not much more expensive but we all know that those teeny-weenie differences add up... which is why i still pick up pennies!

do you see why i'm going bonkers with bulbs?  my head is twirling, my fingers are twittering, my ideas are swirling and my, oh, my is my sink full of dishes.
