funny... on friday

look!  i'm doing it!  see? did you notice that this is the 3rd--THIRD!--posting of "funny...on friday" in a row? and it's really friday!

in addition to my blogging feat, i must mention that 3/4 of one floor of the house has been vacuumed AND i completed 1.75 pieces of furniture this week.  unfortunately, i did sand the tips off two important fingers and a thumb which means washing dishes will be... not done.  may impact folding of laundry, too.

for the most part, though, i felt so together and... organized.  so very....

sadly, my 7th grade 'tween did not recognize my togetherness at 6:40am when the car key hook was mysteriously empty as we set out on our morning drive to the bus stop (hush--it's still dark out... she could get abducted!).

no, we do not have another set of keys and no, you may not ask why.

suffice it to say that they turned up in my purse an odd spot shortly after she pounded down the road.  i resourcefully used a to-go cup lid to scrape the frost off the windshield before swooping in and delivering her to the bus.... with barely enough time to reminisce about my childhood shleps up a mountainside in twelve feet of snow--both ways-- to my bus stop in new jersey.

my 'tween was not impressed as she shot her "like, whatever, mom"-look.

insert 'tween face

speaking of "like, whatever", today's funny is from a favorite of mine, taylor mali, teacher, poetry slam winner, humorist, author, and scorer of 581 points in a single scrabble game.

no, i did not make that up.

oh, if you are/were a teacher, or if you happen to know one, you might enjoy this one, too.

happy friday, friends.

I loved this little video...and considering that I finish half my sentences to my husband with "you know what I mean?" it was quite funny! Thanks for sharing Amy...you are on a roll. Linky following you also.
Have a great weekend...maybe you can get some spare keys made!

this is what i get for trying to read this and listen with my 5 yr old... she thinks that first picture is wonderwoman. and then when i told her that we were going to listen to something funny she gave a dramatic laugh every time the audience laughed... and in turn i ended up laughing at her and not the guy!

Slammin. If only all teachers were like him. I have a feeling he is a great exception. As is the guy in LA that wrote Teach Like Your Hair is on Fire...ever read that? It's, like, amazing, ya know?

Yur a great mom.

Damn that menopause .. first Taylor Mali had me laughing. And then he made me cry (I want him to always and forever be my children's teacher!).

And his first bit, I see way too much of that out in blogland, you know what I mean?

Not here though. And I write that with conviction!

P.S. My tween girl morning routine is the bane of my existence ...

P.P.S. This time I'm leaving the comment as my "Google" account. Let me know I still show up noreply ....

(And thanks for conducting this impromptu experiment with me without me even asking you first. :)
