Now I know...

how many whoppers are too many whoppers.

ugh.  i can't talk about it any more 'cept to say that i'm making up for my post-free weekend by double-posting today.  gives me somethin' to do while i pat my whopperful belly while loungin' on the sofa.

anywhoo... remember this from my last post, about 8 minutes ago?

of course you do 'cuz you're just watchin' your inbox a-waitin' it, right?

via

'sup wit 'dat fancy bra all pushed up on your laptop 'n stuff?  'dis is a family blog, ya know.

sorta.

yessiree, that la mesa was one of the germantown freebies i picked up at a time when i was wantin' to be a seller of painted wares.  i raced through the finish of this curvilinear console and--ugh--sold it for a pittance.

after i peeled the veneer off the top.

why, exactly, would one sell a piece of furniture with a delicately carved drawer?

and those legs?  doy.  duh.  dimwit.

whatev.  i'm over it.  fer sure.

 totally fer sure.

okay, i'm not over it.  not even a bit over it.  i want want want want that table back and i want it back now.

or yesterday.

and since i can't have it then i want to know the owner of that aqua chunk of my heart is oooglin', ogglin' and igglin' it all day and night and in between.

or else i'm gonna sniff you out, hunt you down and .... somethin'.  totally somethin' big and mean and scary and whopperish.

'cuz i have a lot of those malted brown balls hangin' here doin' nothin' but hangin', waitin'.

but not for long.

(hey...if you don't receive a reply to your comment it's probably b/c you have your blogger account set to "NO REPLY".  get on that, peeps!!!)

You did a beautiful job with the distressing and I really like that turquoise.

Hey WhopperGirl~

Yep...that was a BAD decision to let that beauty go. You'd have to pry it out of my cold dead hands. ; ) Nothing like a big hunk of regret to go with that Whopper overdose, eh?

Oh,my gosh I'm not gonna tell you how gorgeous it is, cause it would just make you feel bad, right?
So it's really ugly and I know you will find something better, way better. Does this make you feel better? No, how about being proud of what a great job you did. Focus on positive, ok, not working? Just go cry, get it out of your system. Thanks for stopping by, I FB you!

It is a nice table, I can see why you would want it back. But surely you have some other treasure waiting for love right? When you pulled the veneer from the top did that affect the look of the table? I did this once with a desk and the top looked awful. Even after sanding and a bunch of paint.....

oh. wow. beautiful. i loooove those legs and that color.... love!

what an amazingly graceful table! You're right, who gets rid of that?!! I ask that all the time at thrift shops and garage sales. But their loss is our gain! Beautifully refinished.

Tanya@takesix said...

Never, ever, EVER can you have too many whoppers!! ;0)

Amy, why did they sell that? Sure glad they did to you...she is gorgeous!

Olive Cooper said...

Amy,I have had about five hundred pieces of chocolate candy too if that helps. Your table is gorgeous and I would mourn that loss too. I sell a lot of stuff and I am a terrible seller because I want to keep it all. I cannot though even though more is more. hugs♥Olive from Olive Out

Yeah, I'd be regretting that too. Hopefully it's in a good home. Gorgeous color and those legs! I'd be lucky to have some legs like that. On a table I mean.

She is a beauty...great legs, great color, great job!

Amy of The Salvage Collection said...

thanks, all for commiserating with me about the loss of the this leggy beauty.

sadly, the color was a mistint from lowe's and then i tweaked it with white and some grey. yup, it's darn "custom" but i just call it "aqua"!

and, yes, i've learned that i cannot ever have too many whoppers...

That truly was a beautiful piece and I totally understand your regret. I recently sold a table I had bought for cheap to fix up. I decided I didn't have time or room for another project so sold it as is. It was so awesome and then I saw same table listed on CL for mucho $$. I could have done same, next time.

What a beautiful piece that SOMEONE ELSE is enjoying! I'd have regrets too! But...if you can do it once, you can do it again, I say. What a funny post, and sorry about the whoppers!

Redlilocks {Swoon Worthy} said...

Oh dear... that is one hot sexy mama of a table! Can't blame you for regret. Although, saying that, there is little that an overload of chocolate can not cure. Condolences xxx

Oh, Amy....I feel your pain, girl. That was one beautiful table! I've done that, too, with a piece of furniture that you've put alot of time into...then regret selling it. But...rest assured. Some better piece will come along. I promise! :)

What a beautiful piece. And the paint you added to it really "made it". You know what they say, "Better to have loved & lost than never to have loved at all".
