Apology...I think....

okay, i'm a newbie blogger and i think i've done something SUPER B.A.D. to the 1 or two people who may possibly be following me via email.  if that is you, i'm not sure how to find you and i hope you haven't unfollowed me for what i think i've done but, OMG, am i sorry for what i think i've done to your inbox.

here it is...well, how about my excuse explanation, first, okay?

i'm an incessant editor of my own writing.  it's never anything enough so, quite often, i spaz and click "publish" just to whoosh the words the hell away from my face.

(duh.  like i don't know how to follow the breadcrumb trail to that "edit" button and bellyflop back into the torture of imperfection.  even i'm not dumb enough to fool myself here.)

so, i THINK--based on another blogger's comment about her own edits--that EACH time i click "update", i inadvertently send you an updated posting.  or ten.

yes, i KNOW i should've been subscribed to my own posts via email but I DIDN'T.  super duh.  and i hate hindsight and its freakin' 20/20 vision.

so here's my red face beggin' forgiveness and promising to drive more carefully.

helpful advice/feedback/critique is welcome.  really. i'll only cry a wee bit.

(sniff. sniff. wipe.)

Uh Oh. I'll join you with the red face, because if this is true, then I've been doing it to. A LOT. Oh boy. Thanks for sharing, and educating me as well!

This is still in my head. In fact, I've penned my own apology now, but it's in draft mode waiting for me to be SURE it's ready. haha. But now I'm wondering... what about when you update to include link parties? Doesn't that require an edit and republish? That's what you mean by updating, right? So once I publish, then anytime I want to link up to a new party, and add the link to the party in my post (per most party rules), I would be re-emailing my subscribers? I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions, but you've got me thinking!

Add me to the parade of shame! I swear I can't see the typos until the post is published...I'm pretty sure it's because there are gremlins that change what I've written between "Preview" and "Publish"!

I don't think updates are considered new posts. I subscribe to my own blog via email and Google Reader, and I never see updates on posts I edited that were already live. I think you're safe!

Last night, I published a post. Then I remembered I really wanted a Pin It button on it. Then SNS 102 opened and I wanted to link. So I thought, ok, it's time to see what happens! I edited and republished. Since I subscribed to my own blog after reading this, I am happy to report that only the newest version was waiting in my email box this morning. Whew!

I do edits all the time after publication, and since I subscribe to my own by email, I have never gotten more than one email per post. I really think you are safe, but I guess you know that by now!!

yep, i'll probably hunt you down and comment on your blog and then follow you and then comment on your blog and then reply to the comment you left on my blog and then... i'll forever stalk you.

still here? okay...good luck to you, my new best friend!
